Murphy
Murphy my 11 year old yellow lab has always been there for me. He is sweet, friendly and is always there for me. Although he has stinky breath, he licks me up and down every time I come home. One of his favorite things to do when I am watching tv is to lick my legs and feet non stop for a half hour or more, (most likely causing his bad breath). reshing a while after, kinda like applying lotion with a delayed effect. When he plays with Lily they play tug-o-war, keep away and they wrestle. I think he thinks of Lily as his girlfriend in a way, sometimes I will see Lily and her ears are completely soaked from Murphy licking them. I have seen him do this and she really seems to enjoy it. Although he is neutered he still has a very close bond with his “sister”.
Murphy is a riot around the holidays, during Christmas when my family and I are giving out presents we will give the gift to Murphy. He then carries it over to the person who it is intended for and then chews off the wrapping. After years of doing this he has gotten very good only destroying a small percentage of the boxes. Also during
the big meals or even the every day dinners he makes sure his presence is known. At the beginning of dinner he will sit under the table being messaged by everybody’s feet. Once he starts hearing silverware scraping plates he knows it is time to start begging. He will sit right next to me and stare right at my plate. Unfortunately I am not that strong willed and he usually wins but when he doesn’t he lets out a big “Woof!” to let everybody know he feels left out.
Murphy’s personality makes him a unique and wonderful dog who is always by my side.
